1951 - 1964

  • Activated 2 March 1951 at Camp Catlin, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, as 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company and assigned to Fleet Marine Force Pacific.

  • Relocated during September 1951 to Marine Corps supply depot, Oahu, territory of Hawaii.

  • Relocated in October 1955 to Camp H. M. Smith, Oahu, territory of Hawaii.

1965 - 1974

  • Sub Unit #1, 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company activated 19 May 1965

  • Sub Unit #1 deployed during May 1965 to the Republic of Vietnam and assigned to military assistance command.

  • Sub Unit #1 participated in the war in Vietnam, May 1965 through March 1973, operating from various locations.

  • 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company relocated during May 1971 to San Diego, California.

  • Re-designated 6 July 1972 as separate brigade platoon, 1st ANGLICO

  • Sub Unit #1 deactivated 14 March 1973 in Vietnam

1975 - 1986

  • Separate brigade platoon, 1st ANGLICO relocated in January 1975 to Camp Pendleton, CA

  • Assigned January 1979 to the 1st Marine Division

  • Re-designated 30 May 1980 as separate brigade platoon, 2nd ANGLICO

  • Reassigned during January 1984 to the 1 Marine Amphibious Force

  • Re-designated 5 December 1985 as 1st ANGLICO  

  • 1st ANGLICO was deactivated May, 1999 at Camp Pendleton, California
